Vaujany has its own modern sports complex with a 25m swimming pool, complete with flume and children's play areas, a well equipped gym and a spa area with saunas and Jacuzzis.
The area around Vaujany is rich in history and was particularly noted as a centre of the Resistance during the second world war, whilst the Routes Napoleon and Stendahl pass close by.
There is an interesting museum in the village itself, and the Chateau in Vizille (20 minutes away) houses the Museum of the French Revolution. Grenoble itself is a fascinating city and has many historical sites and museums, together with good shopping.
Throughout the winter and summer seasons the Vaujany tourist office organises a programme of cultural and sporting events to suit all tastes, ranging from Molière to mountain bike racing, from ice carving to triathlon. Further details can be found on their web site
There are a variety of good restaurants and cafes, both on the mountain and in the village, including traditional home cooked regional specialities, wood fired pizza and more sophisticated menus.
Very close to the lift station there is a purpose built crèche, which has excellent facilities and is open all year.
